Locitude

After meeting Locitude’s Ade during the NITC 9 meetup, I have been impressed and fascinated with the evolving, more versatile and modern day locs. Very different from the dreadlocks associated with being ‘dada’ (child born with loced/matted hair), modern day locs are done very purposefully, and neatly. They are another way of growing your hair natural, and are probably less hassle to take care of as compared to natural and relaxed hair.

We are devoting the Hairspiration gallery today, to the different ways and styles of wearing locs. As always, you are only limited by your imagination.

Enjoy!

SisterLocks

Sisterlocks are much tinier than traditional locs, present more versatility in the styles you can wear, and tend to be less heavy than the traditional locs. It is a locking technique created and trademarked by Dr. Joanne Cornwell in California, USA, in 1993. Typically done by consultants trained in classes by Dr. Cornwell, they are usually more expensive to get done and maintain, and take much longer to install… But those who do them, do look fabulous!
