HHJ | How To Wash and Condition Relaxed/Texlaxed Hair with Lauren Legato

Healthy Hair Journey | Relaxed/Texlaxed Hair Journey | Basics

Wash, Light Protein Condition & Moisture Deep Condition

If you’ve read our ‘Basic Principles of Growing Healthy African Hair‘, or are already on a hair journey, you would know that the basic 3 things you must do to get your hair healthy and retain length are: Wash, Deep Condition and Moisturise & Seal

YouTuber, Lauren Legato shows us how she washes and conditions her relaxed/texlaxed hair. She divides her thick hair into several sections, but if you have fine or shorter hair, you can use less sections, or not section your hair at all. Note that fined haired people with longer lengths might still have to section their hair to avoid excessive tangling.

In this video, she does a light protein deep condition and follows up with a moisturising deep condition. Remember that you need to regulate your protein/moisture balance if you have chemically treated hair, to strengthen your chemically weakened hair, and maintain moisture. Observe your hair to see what it needs.

Always remember to moisturise hair with water based moisturiser and seal with a natural oil once you’re done washing.
