Ose Dudu (Nigeria) or Anago soap or Alata Simena (Ghana) 

Hand crafted traditionally in West Africa, black soap is known for being gentle and can be used to alleviate oily, acne prone and blemished skin and various other skin issues. It is known to help with skin irritations and conditions such as Eczema and Psoriasis as well.

It is used on the face, body and hair (as an effective sulfate- free cleanser/shampoo). Its colour can range from light brown – dark brown. The original recipes might differ a little between countries, and can include Shea butter, cocoa ashes, coconut oil as well as essential oils, herbs or dried flowers. Plantain ashes contain high amounts of Vitamin E and D.
